In-situ growth nickel phosphide/biomass carbon integrated fast-kinetic anode for Na-ion batteries

•A synthesis strategy of nickel phosphide/biomass carbon fast-kinetic anode is proposed.•This strategy can directly obtain an integrated electrode, which effectively simplifies the process flow such as mixing and coating, which is beneficial to cost-saving and large-scale production.•As-synthesized material has excellent kinetic properties, which is conducive to the rapid progress of charge-discharge reactions.•The physical diffusion process and chemical reaction process of the integrated electrode during charge and discharge are revealed.
