摘要

•Vang tea leaves-water extract (VTLWE) is recommended as an effective corrosion inhibitor.•VTLWE is possessed as a mixed-type inhibitor with more cathodic characteristics.•A higher level of steel corrosion inhibition in 0.5 m H2SO4 solution containing VTLWE.•An occurrence of the organic film layer on the steel surface immersed in the investigated solutions.
