摘要

•SiO2-incorporated Ti/IrO2-Ta2O5 was applied as the anode.•Metronidazole degradation on a novel Ti/ IrO2-Ta2O5-SiO2 anode was evaluated.•The degradation of Metronidazole was optimized by response surface methodology.•Decolorization efficiency of 98.54% and TOC removal of 78.9% were achieved.•Five organic intermediates were identified.
