The energy extraction potential from pitch-heave coupled flutter

•50% efficiency can be obtained from coupled flutter of a pitch-heave fully-passive system.•In general, the aerodynamic moment does negative work, whereas the lift does positive work.•As opposed to stall flutter, coupled flutter exhibit phase differences on a continuous spectrum.
