•Bi-material sinusoidal beams achieve the temperature-induced bistability-to-monostability transitions.•Phase diagrams of the beam with respect to geometrical and material parameters are constructed.•Developed metamaterials possess temperature-induced recoverability and programmable deformation.•Different triggering temperatures of bistability-to-monostability transition can be realized through the combination of different materials.
