Abstract
•Water immersed adhesive bonded joints were examined to clear the fatigue fracture morphology.•Cohesive failure rate with JIS SPCC590Y adherends significantly decreased after water immersion.•Cohesive failure rate with JIS SUS316 adherends increased, and fatigue strength slightly decreased.•Excellent corrosion resistance leads to high cohesive failure rate and high fatigue strength.
