Electricity theft detection based on hybrid random forest and weighted support vector data description

•Using random forest to select typical user behavior characteristics and reduces the complexity of user behavior data.•Combine ensemble learning and imbalance data classification model.•Proposed weighted support vector description to solve electricity theft detection with very unbalance dataset.•Diverse experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has better feature characterization capability and better classification performance on high-dimensional and unbalanced datasets.
