Prevalence of R5 and X4-Tropic strains in HIV-1 Infected bangladeshi population

•To our knowledge this is the first report of chemokine receptor in Bangladeshi PLHIV in various subtype•The findings indicate high prevalence of CCR5 tropic HIV infection•We reported earlier using 10 samples that all of them were fully resistant to tipranavir/ritonavir drugs•The higher prevalence of R5-tropic strains in the Bangladeshi population can shed light into use of Maraviroc in PR or RT resistant strain.
