Three-dimensional core reconstruction and performance evaluation of CO2 displacement in a tight oil reservoir

•A digital core was reconstructed using thin sections of a reservoir-collected rock.•Conducted 3D multiphase flow simulations for performance evaluations of CO2 EOR strategies.•Agreements in history match confirmed cyclic CO2 injection as the most effective scheme in a tight core.•Operational parameters were optimized for a better performance of CO2 EOR.
