Combining stable isotope, multielement and untargeted metabolomics with chemometrics to discriminate the geographical origins of ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe)

•Stable isotope and multielement were first used for origin tracing of ginger.•Untargeted metabolomics was analyzed for ginger origin traceability.•Chemometric models showed good discrimination of gingers from different regions.•The KNN, SVM and RF models achieved better discriminant performance.•The mid-level fused dataset improved the discriminant efficiency.
