Metal coordinating-induced self-assembly of cyclic lipopeptides into high-performance antimicrobial supramolecules

•We devise high performance complexes via metal chelating to cyclic lipopeptide (CL)•The coordination reconstitutes highly-hydrophobic CL to amphiphilic particle.•Complexes exhibit high recognition, antimicrobial and anti-drug resistance ability.•Complexes show robust ability against pathogenic and spoilage bacteria on fruits.•Metal coordinating can be translated to enhance other natural antimicrobial agents.
