Exploration of the potential mechanism of the Fuzheng Xiegan decoction for treating hepatocellular carcinoma based on experimental and network pharmacological analyses

•The present study focus on the role and the potential mechanism of fuzheng xiegan decoction in hepatocellular carcinoma cells.•Our data demonstrated that fuzheng xiegan decoction might inhibited the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of HCC cells via MAPK/ERK and PI3K/Akt pathway.•The findings revealed the active ingredients, potential targets, and molecular mechanisms of fuzheng xiegan decoction against hepatocellular carcinoma.
