•Microstructure and stress intensity features dominate fatigue life of laser-directed energy deposition Ti-6Al-4V alloy.•A fine granular area existence prediction and subsequent fatigue life posterior analysis model constitue the final model.•Several hyper-parameters of ridge classification and kernel ridge regression were investigated to validate the algorithms.
