Simulation of steady state limiting currents at arrays of square electrodes

Steady state limiting currents at arrays of square electrodes embedded flush in an insulating plane have been simulated, assuming diffusional transport. Steady state limiting currents were obtained with an accuracy from <1% for close spacings and about 5%–8% for wide spacings at the larger arrays, for arrays from 2 × 2 up to 18 × 18 electrodes. The steady state currents were smaller than the theoretical values, except for the larger arrays and close spacing.
