High-efficient electrochemical sensing platform based on MOF-doped Au/PEDOT composites toward simultaneous detection of catechin and sunset yellow in tea beverage

•Electrochemical sensing platforms were fabricated based on MOF-doped Au/PEDOT composites.•The electronic effects between Au/PEDOT and MOF dopants play significant role in improving the catalytic activity of the composites.•Both the Au/PEDOT/ZIF-8 and Au/PEDOT/MWCNT-CONH-UIO-66 composites perform satisfactory sensing properties toward CA and SY simultaneous detection.•Simultaneously detecting CA and SY in tea beverage electrochemically for the first time.
