Abstract
•The time-series-based habitat model of an endangered aquatic plant in mountain wetlands is developed and verified.•A novel method to calculate the scattered and continuous duration of dominant and nondominant inundations is presented.•The endemic plant performs advantageously in the EC region with deeper water depth and higher water conservation than the NRF area.•Structural and nonstructural measures are addressed to initiate integrated surface water management in the mountain wetland.
