Abstract
Malnutrition has been described as a poor prognosis factor in cancer patients, and it should be taken into account particularly in the elderly population with advanced disease. In order to early identify patients at nutritional risk, and in order to overcome the limitations of the Body Mass Index (BMI), indexes have been developed and evaluated, including the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) and the Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI). The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of GNRI and PNI in elderly patients with metastatic colorectal cancer undergoing systemic cancer treatment.
