Sex Differences in Endocannabinoid Tone in Cannabis Use Disorder and Acute Cannabis Withdrawal

Cannabis use disorder (CUD) is common and presents differently in men and women, most notably in symptoms of cannabis withdrawal. However, the biological basis for this difference is unknown. The present study sought to prospectively assess sex differences in withdrawal symptoms in a small sample of adults with moderate-to-severe CUD and to determine if withdrawal was associated with peripheral endocannabinoid tone.
