A Relatively Brief History of Oral Methamphetamine Self-Administration is Sufficient to Induce Cognitive Impairment in C57BL/6J Mice
Biological Psychiatry(2023)
Abstract
Methamphetamine (MA) use disorder is characterized by cognitive impairment, theorized to reflect glutamate-related neurotoxicity within frontal cortical regions. As little is known regarding the psychobiological consequences of subchronic MA exposure we examined how a subchronic oral MA self-administration alters negative affect and cognitive performance in mice.
