147. A Prospective, Multi-Center, Randomized, Controlled, Blinded Trial of Vagus Verve Stimulation for Difficult to Treat Depression: The Recover Trial Baseline Data

Therapeutic Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression (TRD). In 2019, the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requested a “coverage with evidence trial” to study VNS efficacy in Medicare TRD patients. This large, multi-center (71 US sites), randomized, sham-controlled trial, RECOVER, assesses VNS efficacy over 12 months.
