摘要
•Many women are not aware of the conceptual and prognostic distinctions between DCIS and IBC.•In the first six months, there were no psychosocial differences between DCIS and IBC.•Over time, there was a non-significant trend of worse psychosocial outcomes in women with IBC.•Renaming DCIS to exclude cancer nomenclature may lower the psychosocial consequences of DCIS.
