Deep brain stimulation in Bassen-Kornzweig syndrome: Still effective after 22 years

•Abetalipoproteinemia, also Bassen-Kornzweig syndrome, is associated with movement disorders (tremor).•Thalamic deep brain stimulation is well-established in the treatment of refractory tremor.•Stimulation settings in abetalipoproteinemia-associated tremor similar to those in the DBS treatment for essential tremor.•We highlight multidisciplinary follow-up to ensure adjustment or optimalisation of stimulation settings and/or medication balance after VIM-DBS surgery.
