Physical and Mental Health in Adolescence: Novel Insights From a Transdiagnostic Examination of Fitbit Data in the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study

Physical fitness has been linked to psychopathology. However, our current understanding of this link is limited in the late-childhood/early-adolescent period when serious mental illnesses begin to emerge. Additionally, this work has frequently depended on self-reported data. However, large-scale consortium-based studies implementing wearable fitness devices have improved our ability to capture real-world fitness behaviors to better understand the links with specific dimensions of psychopathology.
