Abstract
•Thermal performance of DEC system was carried out with different biomass pads.•Surface heat flux and water temperature were correlated with pad performance.•Wind flow and humidity is the major factor that affected the surface heat flux.•Lowering the inlet water temperature could lower the pad exhaust air temperature.•Increased air flow rate can reduce the evaporative efficiency.
