Cooling of electronic circuits through elastocaloric solid-state technology: A numerical analysis for the development of the CHECK TEMPERATURE prototype

•CHECKTEMPERATURE is the first elastocaloric device for electronic circuits cooling.•The elastocaloric refrigerant is shaped in 240 wires of Ni50.8Ti49.2.•A 2D numerical model is introduced to optimally set geometrical and working parameters.•A smaller distance between two wires enhances the energy performances.•The optimal length of the elastocaloric wires is 20 cm for a total mass of 61.23 g.
