Molecular imaging of innate immunity and immunotherapy

Commonly applied innate immune system imaging technologies. Replying on the imaging modality, cells enable to be labelled with the appropriate tag (i.e., radioisotopes, fluorescence dye, magnetic nanoparticles, etc.) to track their location and migration. Antibody or peptide-based tracers can target molecules or receptors on the cell surface, as well as soluble protein such as cytokines. Moreover, genetic reporter technology can be utilized to attain specific labeling of innate immune cell populations. Coupled with traditional imaging systems (i.e., PET, MR and optical imaging, etc), innate immune system imaging can be realized.
