Abstract
This text proposes a series of reflections that are in line with the work carried out with Douglas Hofstadter on analogical processes. The author believes that these reflections are both deeply compatible with Gilles Fauconnier's ideas and highlight the importance of his contributions. More specifically, this text addresses three topics. The first one questions the possibility of literal perception and instead makes this assumption psychologically unlikely and supports an interpretive perspective stating that concepts interpose themselves in all mental activities, from the most trivial perception to the most abstract ideas. The second topic concerns the links between analogy and categorization, claiming that the distinctions drawn between these notions in common sense and academic traditions dissolve as analysis deepens. The third topic emphasizes the counterintuitive entanglements between form and content, encouraging the transcendence of this dualism and conclude by proposing some educational perspectives inspired by these lines of thought.
