•Natural reward processing in adults with cannabis use disorder (CUD) was investigated.•Adults with CUD showed blunted positive affect (PA) under neutral conditions.•Adults with CUD showed blunted galvanic skin response (GSR) under neutral conditions.•Cortisol and PA were positively correlated in healthy controls but not adults with CUD.
