摘要

• A controversy on the age of Ain Hanech was initiated in this journal ∼20 years ago. • We provide here new dating results for Ain Hanech and El Kherba Oldowan localities. • We used a combination of electron spin resonance (ESR) dating and paleomagnetism. • An ESR age of 1.83 ± 0.13 (1σ) Ma was obtained for Ain Hanech. • These data strengthen the chronostratigraphy of the Oued Boucherit sequence.
