摘要
The presence of the chili thrips Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) affecting the foliage and fruit of grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.) var. 'Sugar Crisp', in the municipality of Toliman, Jalisco, Mexico, is reported for the first time. This pest is native of Southeast Asia and very polyphagous and invasive, capable of causing severe damage to young shoots, flowers, and developing fruits of various crops. It is a recent introduction on the American continents. Before this study, there were no records of S. dorsalis causing damage to grapevines in Mexico.
