Abstract
•Ultra-low frequency vibration energy harvesting from the proposed ABVI DEG system can be realized.•The extended instantaneous impact model is established and verified.•Rich dynamical behaviors of the system under the harmonic excitation are revealed.•The system energy harvesting performance can be enhanced by appropriately setting parameters.
