Abstract
BACKGROUND: Rhinitis is the inflammation of the nose. The rhinitis classification considers different phenotypes characterized by distinct etiopathogenetic mechanisms. The most common types are infectious rhinitis and allergic rhinitis. Rinalt (R) is a medical device class II CE formulated as a nasal spray. Rinalt (R) contains Mucotannil (R) complex, seawater, dexpanthenol, and essential balsamic oils. Rinalt (R) exerts a protective barrier against pathogens, allergens, irritants, and harmful substances; and has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, decongestant, and mucolytic properties. The visual analog scale measured signs and symptoms severity. One thousand one hundred seventy-five patients used Rinalt (R) and 288 other intranasalCONCLUSIONS: Rinalt (R) significantly and safely diminished the scores of nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, post-nasal drip, and mucus drainage compared with other products (P<0.05 for all). In conclusion, the present survey evidenced that Rinalt (R) may induce a safe control of respiratory complaints in patients with rhinitis.
