Cognitive Computing in Organizations: An Investigation of Technological Tools to Support Knowledge Management Cycles

One of the goals of cognitive computing, a sub-area of Artificial Intelligence, is to automate the generation of knowledge about a large volume of data, allowing these systems to make more accurate decisions with low human intervention. In turn, Knowledge Management (KM) proposes processes so that individual knowledge is properly captured, systematized and maintained in order to be used by organizations. This article aims to investigate technological tools based on cognitive computing, identifying how and where each of these tools can support KM cycles in organizations. This research is of an applied nature with a qualitative approach, based on a systematic review of these technological tools. 109 systems in 25 market areas were analyzed, identifying the areas in which they contribute, the type of tool and how such tools relate to each process of the KM cycle.
