摘要
Central venous access devices (chemoport) are nowadays most commonly used for delivering chemotherapy drugs. As the chemoport insertion procedures are increasing in number, there are documented complications which are common, life threatening if not immediately treated, and rare. The common complications are pneumothorax, infection, thrombosis, hemothorax, drug extravasation, and malfunction of chemoport. A rare and dangerous complication is fracture embolization of catheter. Another rare complication is flipping of chemoport. In this article, we would like to present images of two patients with one image showing catheter embolized to right ventricle and another patient with port flipping and their management.
