Mining Big Healthcare Data to Predict Long COVID Cases.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has affected many industries (e.g., decrease in industrial activities, shutdown of businesses) in the current era of Industry 4.0. As a negative by product, long COVID may affect workers in many businesses in the industrial sector. During COVID-19 era and the current post-COVID-19 era, huge amounts of data have been collected. Investigation of the post COVID-19 condition (aka long COVID) began recently. In this paper, we present a big data mining and analytics solution, which aims to discover interesting associations in long COVID demographic data and grouping of common symptoms. Using this information, we build a solution that aims to predict the development of long COVID in patients. Our solution shows promise in identifying individuals at risk of developing long COVID and highlights demographic information that could indicate an increased risk of developing long COVID. Evaluation results show the practicality of our solution in mining big healthcare data for prediction of long COVID cases.
