Simulation and experimental study of targeting tumor cells with medium frequency and low voltage pulsed electric field.

Aiming at the problem of single waveform of medium frequency and low voltage AC electric field in inhibiting tumor growth. In this paper, medium frequency and low frequency pulsed electric field with flexible and adjustable parameters and rich frequency content was selected to explore whether low frequency and low frequency pulsed electric field could effectively inhibit the growth of tumor cells from simulation and experiment for the first time. The dielectric model of single cell was established by COMSOL software to analyze the electric field distribution inside the cell under the action of medium frequency pulsed electric field. The simulation results showed that the electric field intensity in tumor cells was significantly higher than that in normal cells under the action of intermediate frequency pulsed electric field, and the maximum electric field in tumor cells in late division was much greater than that in early division, that is, the intermediate frequency pulsed electric field was expected to have a stronger inhibitory effect on the cells in late division. CCK-8 experiment was conducted to explore the cell proliferation rate under the action of medium frequency pulsed electric field with different amplitude and frequency. The experimental results show that The experimental results show that the medium frequency pulsed electric field does not cause the increase of ambient temperature and the obvious change of pH value when the medium frequency pulsed electric field acts on tumor cells. The simulation and experimental results of this paper preliminarily show that the intermediate frequency pulsed electric field can also inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells and achieve the purpose of treating tumors.
