Polypyrrole-decorated Mg-Al layered double oxides for dye adsorption: Isotherm, kinetics, and thermodynamic investigations

•Polypyrrole efficiently enhanced the adsorption activity and durability of PPy/Mg-Al for RhB.•Langmuir fitted with the adsorption isotherms of PPy/Mg-Al composites.•Second-order model described with the adsorption kinetics of PPy/Mg-Al composites.•PPy/Mg-Al exhibited a spontaneous and endothermic adsorption process.
