Theoretical Investigations on a 1-THz Third-Harmonic Gyrotron

In this article, a 1-THz TE15,9 mode third-harmonic gyrotron is theoretically investigated with the time-dependent multimode self-consistent nonlinear theory. The effects of the electron beam voltage, the beam current, the pitch factor, and the operating magnetic field on the output efficiency and output power are analyzed. Meanwhile, the multiphysical fields, such as the electronic beam quality, nonuniform magnetic fields, and cavity thermal effects, are also taken into account as a comprehensive analysis of third-harmonic operation. The preliminary preparation for the experiment is mentioned at the end.
