Abstract
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have received extensive attention due to their powerful broad-spectrum antibacterial ability, and thus are worthy of in-depth exploration and research. Synthesis of AgNPs is essential for practical applications. Here we report a remarkably simple method to directly synthesize lysozyme (LYZ) /AgNPs complexes in aqueous solution in a single step. This method could quickly and efficiently synthesize high-performance LYZ/AgNPs complexes by simply mixing solutions of lysozyme and silver nitrate under visible light illumination. The products obtained through this technology showed strong potential in antibacterial activity, not only with a broad antibacterial spectrum, but also with good inhibitory effect on drug-resistant bacteria and silver-resistant bacteria. We used this product to prepare a cream and tested it in scald healing in animal experiments. The results showed that the cream exhibited excellent performance in anti-infection and wound healing promotion. Due to the fact that the technology is simple and controllable, highly efficient, highly reproducible, environmentally friendly, and easy to scale up, and that the product is stable showing high solubility and good dispersity without clustering and sedimentation in aqueous solution, and that the anti-bacterial activity is excellent, hence the product is easy to be processed into various forms of antibacterial products, we believe that this technology can be used in practical applications.
