Materials for 3D printing

Polymers are the largest group of materials used in additive manufacturing (AM) (3D printing). The chapter shows the contribution and importance of polymeric materials compared to other materials used in AM. It classifies and discusses the most important types of polymers and their forms of occurrence, indicating the AM technologies in which they are applicable. At present, the development and implementation of new materials is a key direction in the development of AM processes, and this is introduced in the chapter. Further prospects for polymeric materials in AM are also indicated.
