摘要
The clinical and dermoscopic features of common and rare benign epithelial tumors, including clear cell acanthoma and a few of the most frequently encountered adnexal neoplasms, are discussed in this chapter. While dermoscopy can provide morphological information to help in their diagnosis, it is not uncommon to discover that the dermoscopic findings in many of these neoplasms are nonspecific, requiring a biopsy to rule out a malignancy. Sebaceous neoplasms are adnexal tumors with sebaceous differentiation that comprise a broad spectrum of histopathologic subtypes. Consistent criteria for the diagnosis and nomenclature of sebaceous tumors are lacking. However, these tumors have conventionally been classified from the benign to malignant spectrum as benign sebaceous hyperplasia, sebaceous adenoma, sebaceoma, and sebaceous carcinoma. Dermoscopic characteristics of these tumors are described. Sebaceous hyperplasia is a benign neoplasm that represents localized hypertrophy of the sebaceous glands.
