The Future of Patient-Centric Data-Driven Healthcare

In the final chapter of the book “Real World Evidence in a Patient Centric Digital Era,” we present overall visions for the future of patient-centric and data-driven healthcare. Specifically, we emphasize harnessing real-world data (RWD) to gain real-world evidence (RWE) in present-day medical research, particularly in addressing noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and offer ideas on a future vision for healthcare in which the community can follow the emerging trends in RWE to make an impact on individual patients and public health. As final remarks, we reiterate the importance of the role of the patient in evidence-based research.
