Abstract
Channel estimation and equalization are required to recover the information data lost due to multipath envelopment. In this study, the least squares schema with the different interpolation methods for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing in 5G is presented. The pilot-based is employed; and, its bit error rate (BER) performance of four types pilot insertion pattern in 5G standard Release – 15.8 is compared. The results are verified by numerical simulation method using Matlab @ . The results showed that the fourth type pilot insertion provides the best BER; however, it has the lowest spectrum efficiency. It is depended on the communication scenarios. At the signal to noise ratio of 30 dB with the 64-QAM mapping, the BER of below 10 -4 can be achieved.
