摘要
Every organisation is contributing to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through meetings held on their premises. This could relate to employees commuting to work, or indeed the recruitment of board members and flying them in for the interview process. In addition, raw materials and ingredients must be sourced from suppliers, and products and processes need to be supplied to customers. This chapter starts with transportation emissions and how reductions could be achieved. Different solutions are evaluated regarding how meetings could be conducted in a more carbon-friendly way, including recruitment. Innovative solutions will be shared on how employees and customers could be incentivised to choose carbon-friendlier transport. This will include information and solutions regarding embodied carbon in electric (company) cars and vans. The chapter includes recommendations on how to increase local networks with customers and suppliers, the latter will also be picked up in chapter 7 (Estates & Facilities) and chapter 8 (Procurement & Supply). A case study will look into reducing carbon emissions during the recruitment process. Quick Wins, an implementation plan and further resources conclude the chapter.
