Security in Ambient Intelligence and Internet of Things

Many paradigm-s have shifted from the realm of computer networks to the world of Ambient Intelligence and IoT. The network's and its deployment's perspective has shifted. A 60-year-old computer expert and a kid have quite different views on networks. The former considers a network to be a collection of linked computer devices, whereas the latter considers networks to be a collection of connected things! Whatever the case may be. Changes in the paradigm lead to changes in the ways security is being accomplished in AmI and IoT. Because IoT is nothing more than the connectivity of things, the way security must be achieved reliant on the "things" due to which a network is formed. The sensor network serves as the foundation for every IoT application. The difficulties and challenges that occur in AmI and IoT are the same as those that arise in the course of sensor networks; plus, in order to make the network intelligent, a new set of challenges will emerge from the domain of artificial intelligence. Thus, in the researcher's opinion, AmI and IoT are nothing more than intelligent sensor networks that route data, provide security, enforce privacy, enable authentication, and give identity. As a result, the aim of this chapter is to shed light on the privacy and security problems, as well as the identification and authentication issues that must be addressed in wireless sensor networks in order to achieve smart, secure IoT.
