Setting the stage for supervision

In this chapter the authors begin by reviewing the intentions of the editors, authors, and contributors to promote inclusivity in the book and in supervision. It will then explore the similarities and differences between supervision, managerial supervision, mentoring, and coaching; examine the purpose and function of supervision; reflect on the importance of creating a safe space and time for supervision; and appraise how supervision models and frameworks can be used in practice.
