Front Cover: High N‐H Photoacidity of a Nitrogen‐Rich Fused Ring Heteroaromatic Scaffold (ChemPhotoChem 1/2023)

The Front Cover shows the dynamics of photoinduced acetalization catalyzed by an unprecedented highly photoacidic triazolo—triazole derivative. Light as the trigger for this reaction is represented by the stars in the sky at night, as depicted in the background of the cover (an image of the painting “The Starry Night” by Vincent van Gogh). Deprotonation gives rise to a long-lived species, possible due to fast intersystem crossing. HNTT=4-methyl-7-(4-nitrophenyl)-triazolo[3,2-c]triazole.
