Relevance of aptamers as targeting ligands for anticancer therapies

In the treatment of cancer, it is ideal to target only cancer cells, not healthy cells. So, it is important to design a precise target delivery system. Aptamers as a class of single-stranded DNA or RNA widely employed for several biomedical and clinical applications mainly, targeted therapy. They have high potential in the detection of tumor markers and also have been employed to target drug carriers. Here, in this chapter, we introduced different aptamers as targeting tools and then tracks the application of these therapeutic aptamers with versatile strategies in cancer therapy.
