Carbon Neutrality-Oriented Energy Sharing for Prosumers Based on VCG Auction Mechanism

The design of the trade mechanism is essential for the construction of electricity markets. This paper proposes the energy trade method for single-type prosumer markets based on VCG (Vickrey-Clark-Groves) mechanism, and models each subject to simulate the operation of energy trade methods. Firstly, this paper models the general prosumer market and VCG payment rules from the theoretical aspect. For single-type markets, the continuous double auction mechanism is adopted to maximize market revenue and social utility, simultaneously, and the VCG pricing rules are used to remedy the weakly budget balanced continuous double auctions. Then, in the real-time market stage, the uncertainty of renewable power generation and fixed load is considered for real-time transactions with the power grid utility. The numerical results show that the proposed energy transaction mechanism is economically beneficial for the prosumer and the power grid utility, computationally efficient, and is promising to facilitate a sustainable prosumer market.
