A High Performance Frequency Source for Intelligent Spectrum Sensing in 5G Communications

Spectrum sensing is the key technology of intelligent spectrum management to resolve the spectrum scarcity problem in 5G wireless communications. This paper proposes a high performance microwave frequency source for intelligent spectrum sensing in 5G communications. It was designed mainly based on direct digital synthesizer (DDS) and comb generator that can generate an output frequency within 6.5GHz to 9.5GHz. The experimental results demonstrate that this frequency source has the distinct features of low phase noise, high spurious suppression, and high frequency resolution.
